SEL-351A Relay Instruction Manual Date Code 20080213
Firmware and Manual Versions
Firmware
➤ Modified the zero-sequence voltage-polarized ground direc-
tional elements to accept zero-sequence 3V0 from either a cal-
culated value (as before) or from a measurement on the VS
voltage channel (typically connected to a broken-delta zero-
sequence voltage source).
➤ Modified the undervoltage block for the frequency elements
(27B81) to check only VA (or VAB for PTCONN = DELTA)
when group setting VNOM = OFF.
➤ Updated loss-of-potential logic to allow a latched-in LOP condi-
tion to stay asserted through a settings change or group change
operation.
➤ Modified the logic for the phase and negative-sequence direc-
tional elements to cause them to be disabled when group setting
VNOM = OFF.
➤ Added SEL Fast Sequential Events Recorder (SER) protocol.
➤ Added following settings for all settings groups (for 0.2 A nom-
inal neutral channel (IN) current input): 50NFP, 50NRP, a0N,
59RES, 32WFP, 32WRP, and 32WD.
➤ Added the following Relay Word bits: V1GOOD, V0GAIN,
INMET, ICMET, IBMET, IAMET, GNDSW, 50NF, 50NR,
32NE, F32N, R32N, 32NF, 32NR, F32W, R32W, F32C, R32C,
NSA, NSB, NSC, SSLOW, and SFAST.
➤ Added logic to the synchronism check element for indication of
fast or slow slip (Relay Word outputs SSLOW and SFAST).
➤ Loss-of-potential logic now uses setting VNOM in calculating
thresholds for unlatch logic.
➤ Added variable scaling of analog quantities in event reports (i.e.,
variable number of digits behind the decimal point, depending
on magnitude). Added additional event report fault types for
Petersen coil and ungrounded/high-impedance grounded sys-
tems.
➤ Added capability to frequency track with positive-sequence
voltage (V1), if VA too low (VA < 20 V).
➤ Revised demand, peak demand, and energy metering quantities
data in display points, and added new control format to allow
description and control string of time-overcurrent element to be
set to one display point.
➤ Added Extended Mode (DNPE) settings to models with DNP.
➤ Updated BRE W command to allow for trip counters, accumu-
lated interrupted current values, and percent breaker wear to be
pre-loaded for each individual phase.
➤ Corrected the TAR command to default to row zero when the
serial port time-out occurs.
➤ Reduced event report storage capacity to accommodate
increased number of Relay Word bits.
➤ Updated A5C0 relay definition block response, A5D1 Fast
Meter data block, DNA command, and ID command responses.
➤ Corrected substation battery monitor implementation to allow
both Relay Word bits DCLO and DCHI to assert when DCLOP
is set higher than DCHIP.
➤ Corrected an error in compressed event reports in which large
negative values caused a comma delimiter to be omitted.
