Installing Firmware on the Lynx Device
Use these steps only if new Firmware has been required for your Lynx. These steps are
abbreviated here, as you will receive appropriate instructions with any updates from
our Product Support personnel.
This Update procedure assumes the Unit is offline. You will need the null modem ca
-
ble provided with the Lynx, and a PC with Hyperterm and a compatible serial port
on it to accomplish this update.
Note This is an 'Administrator' or service type of event, not normally required of a
Lynx user.
Copy the disk.bin file to \Tftp directory
Run tftpd32.exe
Connect a null modem cable from the PC to the Lynx
Setup hyperterm with the following settings:
Set baud rate to 38400 bps
8 bits per frame
1 stop bit
no parity
no flow control
As the device boots up, hold Ctrl-C keys on your desktop computer that is
connected via serial to the device.
At the ARMmon> in hyperterm, type:
nand write disk.bin “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx”
where “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” is the IP address of your computer.
Press Enter. You should see:
The hyperterm states it is trying the DHCP server
Tftp should start to automatically download the file.
After this completes type in the hyperterm bootos
