HVPS
The High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) page is shown below. These parameters
define and enable the output of the HVPS, and show its current status.
A User control to activate the HVPS output (the On checkbox) is provided here.
The Lynx supports three modes for the HVPS:
• Low - often used for PIPS (Upper Limit 200V range)
• Medium - used for Scintillation (Upper Limit 1500V range)
• High - for HPGe (Upper Limit +/- 5000V range)
Verify you detector's requirements for HVPS connection. Only one high voltage out-
put option is available at a time.
Note The High Voltage Power Supply webpage is unique as it has two regions that
may be selected using the Lynx Menu's Security options. This provides a
level of protection for the sensitive detectors.
–
The High Voltage Power Supply page may be enabled for a user, however
without the ability to affect the HVPS Range or Limit. In this case, the
Range and Limit options in the center of the page are 'grayed out' and are
not adjustable by this user, preventing a possible misadjustment issue.
–
Or, the High Voltage Power Supply page may be enabled for a user,
including the ability to change the Range and Limits if desired.
These HVPS user-access options are set using parameters discussed in the
Security section of this manual, starting on page 119.
