Web User
Anyone accessing the Lynx, regardless of their physical connection method, is consid
-
ered a Web User, and will use its web-based user interface.
It is expected that most Lynx users will interact with Lynx over an IP network connec
-
tion. This type of connection is required to initially set up the Lynx system.
Lynx users accessing via USB, serial or modem connections will also use the same
web-based interface and controls. The Lynx system keeps track of a user's settings
based on their User login, entered when connecting to the Lynx system - regardless
of which computer was used to connect with your Lynx system.
When connected with the Lynx, you will see a display similar to Figure 51.
Java Imaging
The Lynx provides the ability to obtain a Java-rendered spectral image, if using a
browser and a connection method that support this technology. As Browsers are en
-
hanced for improved Java handling, more browser options may be supported.
Several interface methods cannot support the ability for the Java imaging, including
USB and Serial or Modem connections. This is due to limitations with these inter
-
faces, and not a deficiency or problem of the system.
If your browser or connection method does not support the Java imaging, a snapshot
image of the spectrum is calculated, and displayed as a near-real-time spectral image
of your acquisition. This image can be refreshed (using commands from your
Browser) as needed.
Any printed image is, of course, a snapshot of the spectral image.
