User Accounts and Security
Your Lynx may require all users to log in with an account name and password in or
-
der to access any Lynx features.
If 'Web Login' is disabled for ANY user, Security is disabled system-wide. This is
discussed in more detail starting on page 92.
Security
Anyone with Security privileges (discussed in Chapter 4) can change any parameter
including the security settings, including affecting system-wide access, deleting user
accounts and passwords. Therefore, Security should be provided sparingly to those
that really need to add or change User accounts and other security parameters.
If enabled, all Users must first enter a valid user name and password in order to
get to the Lynx Menu and its acquisition display. By default, all users share the
same administrator account and password to access the Lynx DSA.
If Security is not enabled, any user will have open access to the Lynx and all
system settings. All users share the default administrator account, but will not
need to 'log in' each time.
System defaults enable this security measure, with a single administrator account.
Administrator Account
The administrator account is special and cannot be deleted. It always will have access
to all Lynx features and options. Its password may be reset by anyone with Security
access. An administrator can perform all functions in the system, including running ac-
quisitions and reports, etc.
User Accounts
User accounts (discussed in Chapter 4) use a simple name and password entry, to pro
-
vide specific feature access when connecting with the Lynx. Accounts do not provide
"bullet-proof" security, rather a simple 'latch on the door' to prevent inadvertent over
-
rides and acquisition interruption.

Other users will see that a given input is 'locked' in this case. That 'lock' may be
