Add
When the new User definition (name, description, password, and selected privileges)
is complete, click on the Add button to add this user account to the list.
Delete
To delete an existing User definition, select the user name in the list, then click on the
Delete button. All User details for that User ID are permanently deleted. If logged in,
this User remains active until they log off, at which point they cannot log back in.
Change
To modify an existing user account, select the user name in the list, make the changes
as desired, then click the Change button. The settings are immediate. If this user is
currently logged in, they must log out and log back in to see any menu changes.
Clear
Click the Clear button to delete ALL User entries from the User list, and return the
system to the 'default' User and Security settings (including password being required).
CAUTION
The system will not ask for verification of the Clear feature.
All user accounts will be deleted when you click Clear.
User Account Privileges
Each user account may have a mixed combination of Lynx system features. Enabling
privileges allows a user to have only those features selected, or all features, that they
may require. Conversely, this allows an Administrator to prevent users from accessing
parameters or options that they should not be affecting, or simply do not need.
Privileges are selected by an authorized person using the Setup | Security page.
Calibration
Enables/disables ability to perform or edit energy calibrations. This user has access to
all Calibrations menu options, discussed starting on page 128.
Network
Enables/disables ability to edit network communication settings. This User may access
the Setup | Network menu options, discussed starting on page 106.
Hardware Adjust
Enables/disables ability to adjust MCA hardware settings. This User will have access
to all options of the MCA Settings menu, discussed starting on page 77.
Note
If the HVPS Limit Adjust option is not also checked, this User will be pre
-
vented from adjusting the Range and Limit parameters of the HVPS.
