Counting Modes
LFC+, Loss Free counting, or PHA+ mode of Pulse Height Analysis, can be automat
-
ically enabled from the Acquire Setup screen. Select the radio button for the counting
mode desired.
Time Preset
Live Time and Real Time selections, enabled and set in seconds, minutes or hours.
External Control
External Start and Stop signals arriving at the rear panel PHA ACQ SS connector can
be used to control data acquisition. Four modes of External Start/Stop control are sup
-
ported (plus none), and the polarity of the control input is selectable. Your mode selec
-
tion affects both inputs in the same manner. A fifth option, None, is provided which
disables External Start/Stop control. Initially, External Start/Stop control is disabled.
The external controls are used as follows:
External Start/Stop
Four active external Start/Stop control options are offered, plus 'none'. Channel Ad-
vance and Sweep Advance options are grouped with the Start/Stop options. The Polar-
ity of each of the external input signals is set using this area of the setup page.

Start Only, Stop Only, and Start and Stop allow an external signal pulse to
change the state of an acquisition once; subsequent external signal inputs are
ignored.
•
Suspend & Resume will toggle the state of the acquisition upon receipt of an
external signal pulse.
