Controls for the Lynx System
The Lynx DSA provides a thin-client application for setup and control. You will ac
-
cess the Lynx system using a browser-based interface from your Windows XP PC, a
PDA running Windows CE, a Mac OSX or a Linux computer that is Java 1.5
equipped.
If using the Lynx with your Genie 2000 software, you may use your Genie 2000 inter
-
face to control your Lynx system.
Only the following controls are present on the Lynx hardware itself.
Power Switch
The Lynx does not have a power switch; the instrument is 'on' when the supplied AC
adapter is plugged in and connected to its power source and to the Lynx.
Applying Power
To turn on the Lynx, plug the AC adapter's cordset into the adapter and to the mains
(power). Connect the power lead into the Lynx' power jack marked 12 V 1.0 A.
CAUTION The miniature power jack is mechanically locked (it screws
on) to prevent accidental disconnection. Do not forcibly
remove it from the Lynx unit as this may cause damage to the
provided adapter or to the Lynx main unit.
To remove power from the Lynx unit, disconnect the power adapter from its AC
power source, and wait approximately 30 seconds for power to dissipate. The front
panel POWER indicator will go out slowly when power is removed from Lynx.
Power On Self Test
When power is first applied to the Lynx, the power LED will blink green until the in
-
strument has gone through its internal configuration and power on self test (POST) di
-
agnostics. Once this process is complete the power LED will change to steady green
for a 'successful' power up test. POST takes about 30 seconds.
Fault Indications
If a fault condition is detected within the Lynx, the power LED will change from
blinking green to steady red after POST. If the fault condition is serious, the Lynx
power LED may continue to blink green beyond the normal power on time duration.
Correcting a Fault
If the Lynx signals a fault condition, contact your local Canberra Technical Service
Center (call 800-255-6370) for service before operating the product.
