Rack-mounting a Single Unit
This assembly must be done with power off, and preferably with no cables connected
to the Lynx unit(s). It is best to pre-assemble these parts on a bench, and install the
joined items as a unit into your equipment rack.
Remove the contents of the Rack Mount kit from its packing material.
Note You will also need an Allen Wrench (4 mm or 5/32") and a #2 Phillips
screwdriver. You will also use mounting hardware from your rack system to
mount the joined components into your rack.
CAUTION If opening the Lynx case (required only if rack mounting two
Lynx units) you must exercise care to prevent electro-static
discharge into the unit.
Using two of the provided socket-head cap screws (SHCS), connect the filler piece to
the side of the Lynx main unit. It is not necessary to 'open up' the Lynx main unit.
Then, add the brackets to make a complete 2U assembly.
Figure 140 shows one possible orientation of the components.
