Parameter Entry
Most parameter changes are applied in real time, especially those related to controlling
the acquisition. Others may allow you to verify your entries before storing and apply
-
ing the parameters. These subtleties will be apparent when you use the interface. You
save your settings by selecting the Submit button on the bottom of most forms. To
undo your entries, use the Reset button on that page.
Some parameter pages generate tabular 'lists' of parameters - such as User Name in the
Security option, or Energy-Channel lists in the Energy Calibration section. In general,
these entries are (1) filled in with appropriate data, (2) added to the list by pressing the
Add button on that page, and (3) saved by pressing Submit. The data is saved and
presented across one row in the table shown for that Menu option.
•
New entries in a list (but not yet saved by pressing Submit), or an entry that has
been selected by you will be shown in RED background color.
•
Entries that have been added to the list and submitted are shown in the normal
white background color.
You can also modify these tabular lists by selecting one parameter row, which will
bring up that row's data in the respective fill-in fields.
Printable Output
You may be able to print a representative copy of the acquisition data.
The Digital Oscilloscope can also print to keep a snapshot copy of a waveform. Your
browser's printing abilities will be used for printing options from the DSO.
Time Setting
Time-of-day values for an acquisition are based on the MCA system's time setting, and
might not be set to the same time-of-day as that of your local computer.
To address this potential mismatch, the Time parameters of the Lynx can be config
-
ured to automatically match an internet-based time standard, using SNTP; an example
of this is provided with the Time parameter settings for the Lynx. Your network ad
-
ministrator would need to configure your PC for a similar functionality, and can assist
with SNTP options.
Interruption Status
If you are logged in, and the Lynx' firmware is updated or it experiences a 'reboot'
command, the user interface will be alerted with a popup indicating it has been reset,
so you know that the connection with Lynx has been interrupted.
