1.2.1 Placing Documents on the Document Glass
Following describes the procedure for placing documents on the document
glass.
Procedure
1
Open the document cover.
2
Place the document face down, and
align it against the inside left corner of
the document glass.
When placing transparencies, tracing paper or other
highly transparent documents, place a sheet of white
paper on top of the document.
3
Close the document cover.
When a standard-size document is loaded on the docu-
ment glass, the size of the document is displayed in the
message area.
●
When copying a thick document, do
not use excessive force to press it
against the document glass. The
glass may break and cause injuries.
●
If you make copies with the document
cover open, avoid looking directly at
the copy lamp. Direct eye exposure
can cause eye fatigue or damage.
