Configure the Length and Number of Bake Out Cycles 105
User Guide v 2.0 — March 2023 Heat the Mold
9.2.2 Configure the Length and Number of Bake Out Cycles
The low-voltage bake out operation will run up to five cycles, if necessary. The time for each
cycle can be set from one to 30 minutes. The system mode and system timer shows each
bake out cycle that is in progress.
When a bake out cycle is complete, the system decides to do the bake out cycle again, if
necessary. If the Bake Out Alert Enable parameter is ON and moisture stays in the system after
the selected number of bake out cycles have completed, the system automatically does a
shutdown and triggers a bake out alarm. If there is no moisture in the system after the
selected number of bake out cycles have completed, the soft start operation starts.
To configure the length of each bake out cycle, do the steps that follow:
1. On the Home screen, touch the System Setup button.
2. On the System Setup screen, touch the Heats Setup tab and then the Control Page 1
tab.
3. In the Bake Out panel, touch the Bake Out Time Per Cycle field.
4. Enter the desired value.
5. Touch the Accept button.
To configure the number of bake out cycles, do the following:
1. In the Bake Out panel, touch the Number of Bake Out Cycles field.
2. Type the number of cycles.
3. Touch the Accept button.
9.3 AltaStart
The AltaStart function is used for heat sequencing. This system analyzes the likely heat-up
time of tip zones and scheduling each one to make sure that they get to their respective
temperature setpoints within 3 minutes of the manifolds. When AltaStart is used:
Zones that are turned OFF will not be included in the AltaStart process.
Zones in manual regulation will use a scaled power value during the AltaStart process,
similar to soft start.
The Heater Type setting must be set to Tip or Tips for the AltaStart process to operate
correctly.
The tips zone must wait at least 180 seconds (3 minutes) before determining when to
start heating. This is done in case the manifold zones become power saturated and it
takes longer for them to heat up.
