13.1.3 Ultra Purge Mode Buttons and Status
The buttons are used to start or cancel the Color Change process, and a status field that
indicates the state of the process as it progresses (refer to Table 13-2).
13.1.4 Color Change Settings Panel
The Color Change Settings panel has the user-configurable settings for increasing the
temperature of the hot runner based on Ultra Purge recommendations. Table 13-3 gives the
descriptions for the items in the panel.
NOTE: For easy recall and to make sure the specific process is being applied to the correct
mold, the settings in the panel are saved to the mold setup file that is loaded at the
time the color change feature is being configured.

Item Description
Start Touch this button to initiate the color change process.
NOTE: The system must be in Running mode for this button to be
enabled.
Status This field displays what is happening with the sequence. The possible
values are:
• Not Started
• In Progress
• Complete
Cancel Touch this button to cancel the process at any time. This action will reset
the process to the beginning.

Item Description
Tips Offset This value is added to the normal temperature setpoint if it is in automatic
regulation and classified as a ‘Tips’ heater type during color change mode.
Manifold Offset This value is added to the normal temperature setpoint if it is in automatic
regulation and classified as a ‘Manifolds’ heater type during color change
mode.
Offset Maximum
Limit
This value is applied when changing the Tips Offset or Manifolds Offset to
prevent an unreasonable offset value being set for the Tips and Manifolds
(relative value).
Temperature
Maximum Limit
This value is applied when changing zone setpoints during a color change
to prevent a temperature setting that could damage the hot runners
(absolute value).
