Soft Start 107
User Guide v 2.0 — March 2023 Heat the Mold
9.6 Soft Start
During the soft start operation, all of the Altanium zones increase in temperature at the same
time and at the same rate. The soft start operation causes an even thermal expansion and
identical residence time on the material.
NOTE: Soft start is not in operation during the staged startup.
When the Start button is touched and the system starts, the Altanium does the operations
that follow:
1. The Bake Out starts, if necessary.
2. If the ART process has not been done, it will start.
NOTE: The ART Process screen will show at the Soft Start.
3. “Soft Start” shows in the system status field. The power applied to the heaters is different
from the probes to the manifold zones. The probes receive less power and the manifolds
receive more. All of the zones increase in temperature at the same rate to make sure
there is an even thermal transfer in the mold. This helps to prevent mold leakage.
4. When all temperatures are near their setpoint, “Running” is shown in the system status
field.
9.6.1 Enable Soft Start
