Use #16 AWG wire or larger for connections to safety earth ground and chassis.

Grounding
Noise and chassis ground
Using the chassis as a ground point for signal connections to the Model 2461 chassis may result in
different levels of noise, depending on your setup. If the Model 2461 common-mode current is
channeled to the chassis instead of the device, the tie point to the chassis can help quiet
measurements. However, if other equipment is connected to the chassis, you may have more noise
because of other connected equipment.
If you choose to use the chassis as a ground point for signal connections, use the Model 2461
chassis screw as a connection point.
