3.7.3 Carrier Gas
The carrier gas which is supplied to the measuring system has to be free of CO
2
because it transports
the CO
2
, which arises through the oxidation of the sample, to the detector. A pre pressure of 2 - 3 bar
must be applied for the carrier gas.
The carrier gas must be free from:
• CO
2
• Carbon
• Dust
• Water
• Oil
