3. Remove oil drain plug (A) and allow the oil to
completely finish draining.
4. Replace drain plug (A).
5. Check the condition of the used oil. If either of the
following is evident, have your Dealer correct the
problem before starting the engine:
• Thin black oil indicates fuel dilution.
• Milky discoloration indicates coola n t dilution .
6. Properly dispose o f used oil.

Replacing Engine Oil Filter
NOTE:
Replace oi
l filter each time engine oil is changed.
1. Open the hood. Refer to 5.4.1 Opening Hood (Lower
Position), page 202.
2. Clean around the fi
lter head (A).
3. Remove filter.
4. Clean gasket mat
ing surface.
5. Apply a thin fi lm
of clean oil to the gasket on the
new filter. Refe
rtoFilter Part Numbers, page 200 for
recommended oi
l filter to us e.
6. Screw the new fil
ter o nto the filter mount until the
gasket contac
ts the filter head.
7. Tighten the fil
ter an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn by hand.
IMPORTAN T:
Do NOT use a filter wrench to install the oil filter.
Overtightening can damage the gasket and filter.
8. Properly dispose used oil filter.

Adding Engine Oil
1. Stop the engine and remove the key. Wait about
5 minutes.
2. Open the hood. Refer to 5.4.1 Opening Hood (Lower
Position), page 202.
