AC30V series Variable Speed Drive
Solid-State Short-Circuit Protection
These devices are provided with integral Solid-State Short-Circuit (output) Protection. Branch circuit protection must be provided in accordance
with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code NEC/NFPA-70.
The following drives when fitted with UL Listed fuses are suitable for use on a circuit capable of delivering not more than:
Frame D: 5,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes, 480V maximum
Frame E: 5,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes, 480V maximum
Frame F: 5,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes, 480V maximum
Frame G: 5,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes, 480V maximum
Frame H: 10,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes, 480V maximum
Frame J: 10,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes, 480V maximum
When fitted with UL listed, Ferraz Shawmut / Mersen, Class J, Type AJT fuses, frame D, E and F sizes may be used on a supply rating
delivering not more than 100,000 RMS Symmetrical amperes, 480V maximum.
When fitted with UL listed, Ferraz Shawmut / Mersen, Class J, Type A5O QS fuses, frame G and H sizes may be used on a supply rating
delivering not more than 100,000 RMS Symmetrical amperes, 480V maximum.
When group installed with the specified line reactor frame D, E, F, G, H and J sizes may be used on a supply rating delivering not more than
50,000 RMS Symmetrical amperes, 480V maximum. Refer to Appendix F: “Technical Specifications” Supply short circuit rating.
Field Wiring Temperature Rating
Use minimum 75°C Copper conductors.
