T osetuptheDangeroustargetsalarm,adjustthe Safedistancetothedesiredvalueandthenselect
aTimetoreachsafedistance.Thealarmwillbetriggeredifatrack edtargetwillreachthespecified
Safedistancefromyourvesselwithinthetimeperiodselected.
Y oucanenableanddisablethetargetsthatwilltriggerthealarmusingthe Radartargetsand AIS
targetstoggleswitch.WhendisabledthetargetswillnottriggertheDangeroustargetsalarm.
Y oucandisplayaSafedistanceringaroundyourvesselintheChartappbyenablingthe Show
safedistancetoggleswitch.
Predictedareasofdanger
ThePredictedareasofdangerfeaturetrack sRadartargetsandAIStargetsinrelationtoyourown
vessel’sCourseOverGround(COG)andSpeedOverGround(SOG).
IfyourpathsarepredictedtocrossaInterceptionlineisdisplayedfromyourvesselandthetarget.
Additionally,Interceptionzonesaredisplayedtoindicatewherethereisanincreasedriskofcollision.
TheInterceptionlineandtheInterceptionzonesarebasedonyourcurrentcourseandspeedand
thetarget’scurrentcourseandspeedandcanhelpyoudeterminewhetheryoushouldchange
courseand/orspeedtoavoidapotentialcollision.
ThegraphicsautomaticallyrefreshwhentheMFDreceivesnewpositiondatafromthetarget.
Important:
TheCollisionA voidancefeatureisagraphicalaidonly,providedtohelpincreaseuserawareness
ofthepotentialforcollision.ItisvitaltohaveagoodunderstandingoftheInternationalRegulations
forPreventingCollisionsatSea(IRPCS/COLREGS),toensureallactionstakenareinaccordance
withtheIRPCS.ImportantconceptstounderstandinrelationtoCollisionAvoidanceinclude(but
arenotlimitedto):Riskassessment;RightofWay;Restrictedvisibility;interpretinglightsand
shapes;interpretingsoundandlightsignals.Intheeventofconflict,theIRPCSregulationsmust
