TheRaceStartLineandRaceTimerfeaturescanhelpyouachieveabetterracingstart.Thefeatures
assistyouinapproachingtheracestartlineattheoptimumspeed,angleandtime.
Thebasicconceptofaneffectiveracestartistoguideyourvesselandtunethesailconfigurationin
anoptimumwaytoensureyouareapproachingthestartlineattheverylastmomentwithfullpower.
Inracesailing,thecountdowntothislastmomentisknownas“TimetoBurn”.
Theracestartlinefeatureshelpyoutodothisbyprovidingavisualindicationofthepositionofthe
racelineontheChart,aswellaskeydata,includingracetimer,distancetostartline,linebias,and
TimetoBurn.ThesefeaturescanalsobeusedinconjunctionwithLaylinestofurtherassistyouin
optimizingyourapproachtothestartline.WhentheRaceStartLine,RaceTimerandLaylinesare
active,Laylineswillvisuallyprotrudefromtheracestartline’sportandstarboardendstohelpguide
yourvesselonanoptimumcoursetothestartline.
