10.1 Diagnostics
Troubleshooting of the light processor + light pipe
The are several reasons why removal or replacing of the light processor is required. Nevertheless, try to avoid unnecessary removal
of the light processor. The list below gives an overview of the most common problems which require removal or replacement of the
light processor. Check this list to ensure the problem is caused by the light processor.
• Artifacts in the projected image. These artifacts are also visible on the internal service patterns of the FIB or Formatter boards.
• A crack in the prism, which can result in convergence problems and may disables you to focus the projected image.
• Defect Peltier element, which causes a too high DMD temperature.
• Damaged integration rod, which causes permanent spots in the projected image.
• Unacceptable amount of dark, bright or flat state pixels on one or more DMDs.
• Blocked shutter. Shutter does not respond when pressing the “PAUSE” button.
• Blocked contrast enhancement plate, which disables you to adjust the contrast.
• Leakage in liquid cooling circuit.
