LLD
Sets the MCA's Lower Level Discriminator. This parameter sets the low energy
limit for data acquisition. This is set when the LLD mode is set to manual. (Be careful
at low energies to ensure a manual setting is performed.)
ULD
Sets the MCA's Upper Level Discriminator. This parameter sets the high energy
limit for data acquisition.
LT Trim
Allows adjustment of the trapezoid pulse evolution time or 'dead time' to optimize live
time correction (LTC) performance. The adjustment range is 0 to 1000; the default
value of 500 provides good LTC performance for a wide range of applications.
Digital Offset
Specifies the digital offset value applied to the spectral data as a signed quantity
ranging from -32768 to +32767. This range is dependent on the Input size.
Coarse Gain
Sets the Coarse Gain of the amplifier, which is then multiplied by the selected Fine
Gain to determine the amplifier's total gain setting. Choose one of a number of Coarse
Gain presets from the pull-down list.
Gain Attenuator
This enables or disables an input gain attenuator to minimize overload due to
preamp signals with large dc offsets, and Reset preamps with large output dynamic
range.
•
ON enables the 'divide by four' input attenuator - the overall gain settings are
reduced by a factor of four.
•
When OFF is selected the signal attenuator is removed.
Note
Calibrations should be performed with this option in the Off selection.
Conversion Gain
Defines the number of ADC channels used to acquire data for the input. A gain is ap
-
plied based on the selected channel size.
LLD Mode
Sets the LLD (Lower Level Discriminator) mode to Manual or Automatic. When
manual mode is selected, the LLD value can be adjusted to a desired specification.
