Compare the random number with the discarding probability of the current queue
and discard the packet, whose random number is greater than the probability. The
longer the queue is, the higher the discarding probability will be. However, there is
a maximum discarding probability.
Through randomly discarding packets, RED avoids the Global TCP synchronism.
When some packets of a TCP connection are discarded and the transmission speed is
lowered, other TCP connections can still keep the higher transmission speed. In this
way, there are always some TCP connections with higher transmission speed, making
a better use of the line bandwidth.
2.2 QoS Configuration
For S6500 series, the QoS configuration tasks include those in system view and those
in Ethernet interface QoS view.
The following table shows the QoS feature description for different LPUs.
