6.2.1 Enabling Multicast
See Chapter 4 Common Multicast Configuration.
6.2.2 Enabling PIM-DM Protocol
You need to start PIM-DM protocol on every interface.
When enabled on an interface, PIM-DM sends PIM Hello message periodically and
process protocol packets from PIM neighbors.
Please perform the following configurations in interface view.

Enable PIM-DM protocol
pim dm
Disable PIM-DM protocol on the interface
undo pim dm
You are recommended to configure PIM-DM protocol on all the interfaces. But
remember that you need first to enable multicast routing in system view to make your
configuration take effect. PIM-DM and PIM-SM are exclusive on an interface.
6.2.3 Configuring Sending Interval for the Hello Packets
Once enabled on an interface, PIM will send periodically Hello messages. You can
define the retransmission interval depending on the bandwidth and type of the
interconnected network.
Please perform the following configurations in interface view.

pim timer hello seconds
Restore the default interval
undo pim timer hello
By default, Hello messages are sent at an interval of 30 seconds. You are
recommended to use the default value, though you can define you own.
