Indicator Meaning
CONT
Continuous measurement: The instrument is making
measurements continuously.
MAN
Manual trigger mode: Press the front-panel TRIGGER
key to initiate a single measurement.
RUN
Trigger model measurement method. The instrument
is running the presently selected trigger model.
IDLE
Trigger model measurement method. The trigger
model is not running.
WAIT
Trigger model measurement method. The trigger
model is waiting on an event.
INACT
The trigger model is inactive. This occurs when the
trigger model cannot run, such as when the count is
more than the reading buffer capacity.
System event indicator
Located on the right side of the instrument status indicator bar, this indicator changes based on the
type of event that has been logged.
Select the indicator to open a message screen with a brief description of the error, warning, or event.
Select the Event Log button to open the System Events tab of the event log, which you can use to
access detailed descriptions of the events. For more information about the Event Log, see Using the
event log (on page 2-142).
