Creating multisample indexes and sampling–P0: Recording
Here’showtocreateindexesinamultisample,and
assignasampletoeachindex.
1. PresstheSAMPLINGbuttontoenterSampling
mode.
2. SelecttheP0:Recording–Recordingpage.
3. Select“MultisampleSelect,”andcreatea
multisample.
Tocreateanewmultisample,pressthe
MultisampleSelectpopupbutton.Thenpressa
MultisampleNo.inthelistforwhichnonamehas
be
enentered,orusethenumerickeys0–9toinputa
numberandthenpresstheENTERswitch.
Adialogboxwillappear.
Ifyouwanttocreateastereomultisample,checkthe
Stereobox,andpresstheOKbutton.
Ifyouwanttocreateamonaur
almultisample,
unchecktheStereobox,andpresstheOKbutton.
4. PresstheCreatebuttontocreateanindex.
Immediatelyafterthepoweristurnedon,Index
willshow001/008.Thisindicatesthatthereareeight
indexes,andthatthefirstindexisselected(seethe
illustrationbelow).
PresstheCreatebuttonseve
raltimes.Eachtimeyou
pressit,anindexwillbecreated.Thekeyboard
displaywillindicatethezoneandoriginalkey
locationofeachindex.
Note:Theindexthatiscreatedwhenyoupressthe
CreatebuttonwillbecreatedaccordingtotheP0:
Recording–RecordingpageCreateZonePreference
settin

Immediatelyafterthepoweristurnedon,Position
willbeRight(toselectedindex),ZoneRangewillbe
1Keys,andOriginalKeyPositionwillbeBottom,
sothatindexeswillbecreatedasshownbelow.This
isconvenientwhenyouwanttosamplemultiple
takesofaphraseorrhythmloopinasingle
operation.
IfyousetZoneRangeto12Keys,indexeswillbe
createdatintervalsofoneoctave.
5. Select“Index.”
YoucanalsoselectIndexbyholdingdownthe
ENTERswitchandplayingapadoranoteonthe
keyboard.Forthisexample,select001.
6. Assignasampletothe“Index.”
IfRAMmemoryalreadycontainssamples,use
SampleSelecttoselectthesampleandassignit.
Ifyouwanttorecordanewsample,youcansample
itnow.
Thesampleyourecordwillbeau
to
matically
assignedtotheindexyouselectedinstep4.
Theassignedsamplewillsoundwhenyouplaythe
keyboardintherangeoftheindextowhichthe
sampleisassigned.
7. Repeatsteps5and6toassignasampletoeach
index.
Thenumberandorderoftheindexesina
multisample,therangeofeachindex,andthe
originalkeypositioncanbefreelychangedlaterif
desired.(See“Multisampleediting”onp.145)
