“Preloaddata”referstothesoundsandotherdata
loadedintheKRONOSwhenitisshippedfromthe
factory.Youarefreetorewritethisdata,andwiththe
exceptionofthedemosongs,thedatawillbewrittento
thelocationlistedin“Writingtointernalmemory.”All
ofthisdataisstored
intheinternaldisk,andbackups
areprovidedontheincludedAccessoryDiscs.

Writing Programs and Combinations
EditstoProgramsandCombinationscanbesavedto
theinternalmemory,whichwe’llrefertoas“Writing.”
Ifyouwanteditstobepreservedafterthepoweris
turnedoff,youmustwritethem.
TherearetwowaystowriteProgramsand
Combinations,asdescribedbelow:usingtheWrite
menucommands,andus
ingtheSEQUENCER
REC/WRITEbutton.
Donotturnoffthepowerforatleast10seconds
afterusinganyoftheWritecommands.Thisallows
thesystemtimetocompletetheprocess,which
includessavingabackupofthedatatotheinternal
disk.
Beforeyouwritedataintomemory,yo
umustturn
offtherelatedmemoryprotectsetting(s)inGlobal
mode.(See“Memoryprotect”onpage 185.)
CombinationsrelyonProgramstomakesounds,
buttheydon’tcontaintheactualProgram
parameters.Instead,theysimplyrememberthe
Programbanksandnumbers.IfyoueditaProgram
that’susedbyaCombination,orloadadifferent

thesamebankandnumber,thesound
oftheCombinationwillalsochange.
Using the Write commands
1. AnywhereinProgramorCombinationmodes,
selectthepagemenucommand“WriteProgram”
or“WriteCombination.”
TheWriteProgramorWriteCombinationdialogbox
willappear.
Note:Youcanalsoreachthesamedialogboxby
holdingdowntheENTERbuttonandpressing0onthe
numerickeypad.(See“Shortcuts”onpage 7.)

Cancelbutton.
WhenyoupresstheOKbutton,thedisplaywillask

in,thedatawillbewritten.
Using the SEQUENCER REC/WRITE button
InProgramandCombinationmodes,pressingthe
SEQUENCERREC/WRITEbuttonopenstheUpdate
dialogbox.
Thisisashortcutmethodwhichsaveschangestothe
currentbank/numberlocation,overwritingtheold
versionoftheProgramorCombination.(Ifyouwantto
savechangestoadifferentbankand/ornumber,use
theWritemenuco
mmandinstead.)
