How audio data is stored on the disk
WhenyousaveSongstodisk,they’restoredinan
.SNGfile.This.SNGfilecontainsallofthedatafrom
Sequencermode,includingalloftheSongsinmemory,
exceptfortherelatedaudiofiles.
Whenyousavean.SNGfile,itsrelatedaudiofilesare
storedinaseparatedirectory.Thisdi
re
ctoryiscreated
automatically,withinthesamedirectoryasthe.SNG
file.(It’salsocreatedifyouloadapre‐existing.SNGfile
whichdoesn’thaveamatchingaudiodirectory.)The
directory’snameconsistsofthe.SNGfilename
followedby“_A”(for“Audio”).
Forinstance,ifthe.SNGfileisnam
ed
WAMOZART. SNG,itsaudiodirectorywillbenamed
WAMOZART_A.
Thismaindirectorycontainssub‐directoriesforeach
song,namedSONG000,SONG001,etc.Theseinturn
containsub‐directoriesforeachaudiotrack,named
ATRACK01,ATRACK02,andsoon.Withineachofthe
tracksub‐directories,eachindividualaudiotakeis
sto
redasaWAVEfile.
Move or re-name audio and .SNG files together
Ifyoumoveorre‐nameanexisting.SNGfile,make
suretomoveorre‐nameitscorrespondingaudio
directoryaswell.Themainaudiodirectorymustbein
thesamefolderasthe.SNGfile,andmustbenamedas
describedabove.
Temporary audio files
Ifyou’rerecordinganewsong,andhaven’tyetsavedit
asan.SNGfile,theaudiofilesarestoredina
temporarylocationondisk.Thedirectorystructureis
thesameasdescribedabove,exceptthatthemain
audiodirectoryisnamedTEMP.
Onceyousavethesong(s)toan.SNGf
ile,these
di
rectoriesandaudiofileswillbecopiedtothenew
“_A”folderautomatically.Ontheotherhand,iffor
somereasonyoudon’torcan’tsavebeforeturningoff
thepower,you’llbegiventhechancetorestorethese
audiofilesthenexttimethatyoustartupthe
inst
ru
ment,asdescribedbelow.
Recovering temporary audio files
Iftherearetemporaryaudiofilesfromtheprevious
session,you’llseethefollowingdialogthenexttime
youstartuptheKRONOS:
Thereareun‐savedaudiofilesfromyourprevious
recordingsession.
Doyouwanttorestorethesefiles,ordeletethem
fromthedisk?
[Restore][Delete]
Ifyoudon’tintendtous
etheWA
VEfiles,we
recommendthatyoudeletethemsotheydon’twaste
spaceontheinternaldisk.Todeletethem,pressthe
Deletebutton.
Ifyouwanttosavethesefiles,presstheRestorebutton
tokeepthem.
Notethatwhiletheaudiofilescanberecoveredthis
way,therestofthese
quencerdatacannotberestored.
Audio input settings and recording source selection
Use Global Setting
Youcanconfiguretheaudioinputsseparatelyforeach
Song,ifdesired.Alternatively,youcanusetheGlobal
setting,asmadeontheGlobalP0:BasicSetup–Audio
page.
IfUseGlobalSettingisenabled,theSongwilluse
theseGlobalsettings,andalloftheothersettings
underAudioInputwillbegr
ayedout.
Audio Input settings
JustasinProgramandCombinationmodes,Sequencer
modeincludesamixerfortheaudioinputs,including
analog,USB,andS/P DIF.Youcanusethistomixand
processtheinputspriortorecording,ifyoulike.For
instance,youcanmixseveralinputstogetherandsend
themtothesameRECbus,orprocessaninpu
tthrough
effectsandthenre
cordtheresult.
Asanalternative,youcanignorethemixersettings
andjustrecorddirectlyfromtheinputs.
