Charge Filt er
The charge filter fi lters the oil in the windrower hydraulic charge circuit that supplies make up oil for normal losses
at motor and pump case drains and associated circuits.
Refer to the following procedures to change the charge filter:

Removing Charge Filter
DANGER
Stop engine and remove key from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason. A child or even a
pet could engage an idling machine.
1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
2. Clean around head of the filte r.
3. Place a container beneath the filte r to collect any oil
that may leak out.
4. Unscrew filter (A) with a filter wrench.
5. Dispose of used oil and filter in accord ance with local
environmental legislation.

Installing Charge Filter
NOTE:
For charge filter replacement part number, refer to Filter Part Numbers, page 200.
1. Clean the gasket surface of the filter head.
2. Apply a thin fi lm of clean oil to the filter gasket .
3. Screw the new filter (A) onto the mount until the gasket
contacts the filter head.
4. Tighten filter an additional 1/2 turn by hand.
IMPORTAN T:
Do NOT use a filter wrench t o install oil filter.
Overtightening can damage gasket and filter.
5. Check hydraulic fluid levels , refer to Checking and
Filling Hydraulic Oil, page 288 . For capacity level,
refer to Lub ricants, Fluids, and System Capacities,
page 199.
