Fill System Troubleshooting Table
Problem Possible Cause Corrective Action
1. System overfilled Level sensor out of calibration Calibrate the level sensor at
application temperature with the
melter empty. Refer to Calibrating the
Level Sensor in this section.
Level sensor ground wires loose or
disconnected
Connect the level sensor cable
ground wires or replace the level
sensor cable. Refer to Replacing the
Level Sensor Cable in Section 8,
Repair.
Level sensor cable loose or
disconnected
Check the level sensor cable
connections. Make sure the fitting is
tightened to 0.8-1.1-Nm (7-10 in.-lb).
Level sensor failure Replace the level sensor board. Refer
to Replacing the Level Sensor Board
in Section 8, Repair.
Fill board failed Replace the fill board. Refer to
Replacing a Circuit Board in
Section8, Repair.
Adhesive bin solenoid valve stuck
open
Clean or replace the solenoid valve.
2. System underfilled Too little adhesive in bin Add adhesive to the bin.
No power Connect power.
Transfer hose solenoid harness
loose
Make sure the Transfer hose solenoid
harness is securely connected to the
melter and the adhesive bin.
Inadequate air supply Check the air supply by comparing
the following pressure gauge
readings:
When air is not flowing (static)
to the pump and vibrator
When air is flowing (dynamic)
to the pump and vibrator
Make sure the difference between the
two readings does not exceed 0.7 bar
(10 psi).
