Upgrading the Firmware Electronically (File Only)
1. Switch off the melter and disconnect and lock out input power to the
melter.
2. Open the touchscreen assembly and remove the customer SD card. See
Figures 6‐6 and 6‐7 if needed.
3. Using a PC or laptop with an SD card reader/writer, copy the *.dat to the
top level directory (root directory) on the customer SD card.
4. Reinstall the customer SD card, close the touchscreen assembly, restore
power to the system, and switch the melter on.
The system automatically detects a new *.dat file and does the following:
Performs the upgrade
Copies the current *.dat file to the \backup directory on the internal
SD card. A pop‐up shows the file transfer progress.
Automatically reboots the melter when the upgrade is complete
(usually in about 10 minutes)
NOTE: Nordson Corporation recommends copying the *.dat files to
another backup storage media in case an SD card is damaged.
