Upgrading the Firmware by Installing a New Customer SD Card (contd)
CAUTION! There are two SD cards. Take care to access only the customer
SD card shown in this procedure. If the internal SD card is disturbed, unit
operation can be disrupted.
3. See Figure 6‐7. Remove the old customer SD card and install the new
one. The customer SD card is identified by a tag on the back of the
touchscreen assembly.

4. Close the touchscreen assembly as follows:
a.. Lift the assembly up, push it back towards the chassis, and then let it
drop onto the pins.
b.. Tighten the screws loosened previously.
5. Restore power to the system and switch the melter on.
The system automatically detects a new *.dat file and does the following:
Performs the upgrade
Copies the current *.dat file to the \backup directory on the internal
SD card. A pop‐up shows the file transfer progress.
Automatically reboots the melter when the upgrade is complete
(usually in about 10 minutes)
NOTE: Nordson Corporation recommends copying the *.dat files to
another backup storage media in case an SD card is damaged.
