The barcode
scanner works
intermittently, or
data is not
displayed on the
screen when you
scan.
Faulty scanning
technique, poor
quality of the
barcode print, or
loose cable
connection to the
port on the
Rapidlab 1200
system can cause
poor scanner
performance.
• Use the correct scanning technique.
Refer to Scanning Technique‚
page 2-22.
• Evaluate the print quality of the
barcode and barcode label.
Refer to Barcode Quality‚ page 6-8.
• Ensure that the barcode scanner is
correctly connected to the
Rapidlab 1200 system.
• Ensure that the barcode scanner is
turned on and that the correct
symbology and format for patient
barcodes are selected.
Refer to Setting up Barcode Options‚
page 8-23.
• If you use Interleaved 2 of 5
barcodes, ensure that you entered the
correct barcode lengths for the
barcodes that you use.
• Ensure that you are scanning the
correct barcode for the sample or the
control.
