6.2 Save Start-up Config
Conguration changes are immediately executed. Without saving, they are
valid just for the current session, which means that conguration changes are
overwritten by the initial snapshot once you switch the console off and on.
Important! In case of a networked system, all its components (desks, SCores) must be
operative when saving a new conguration; if not, the conguration settings
of the inactive components may be lost! This is particularly important when
conguring a console remotely, i.e. via a network.
If you want the conguration changes to be part of the initial snapshot (startup
conguration) of the console i.e., the changes will be permanent, even if
you switch the console off and on again then the Save All button (at the
right of all conguration pages) must be used before exiting conguration. A
message Do you really want to overwrite the startup configuration of the
console?” appears that has to be conrmed by touching the Yes button.
If a conguration change has been made for the current session only, but you
decide later to save it permanently before powering the console down, the
Startup Cong Save All button can be used (same function as the Save
All button at the right of the conguration pages mentioned above).
6.3 External Media Load/Save
For backup purposes or for copying congurations between consoles, the
external media slot comes in handy (OnAir 3000: CF card, OnAir 2500: USB
socket). If no external media is plugged into the slot, the Load and Save
buttons are inactive and displayed in gray.
External Media Save After touching the Save button, either the conguration les will be copied
to the external media if it is empty, or a dialog box A startup conguration
does already exist on the removable media. Do you want to overwrite
it?” appears that has to be conrmed rst.
External Media Load This button loads the conguration data from the extrernal media into the
console’s internal memory and overwrites the current startup conguration.
Important! Please note that the new conguration only becomes effective on the console
after having restarted the core (or the OnAir 2500 console).
