Meter Mode Three different meter characteristics with corresponding scales are available,
as shown below. They can be selected in the configuration tool (Config -
Settings - Main Meter Mode, see chapter 6.5.14).
PPM DIN Nordic Analog Nordic Digital
Meter Indication/Headroom The console-internal headroom is automatically applied to the meter calibra-
tion, which means that the meters display a level of 0 dB at an internal level
of 0 dB
FS
minus the headroom, regardless of the headroom setting.
The default headroom setting is 9 dB, so that the meters display 0 dB at a
level of –9 dB
FS
.
The default sensitivity of the analog line inputs is such that an input level
of +6 dBu results in an internal level of –9 dB
FS
and, if overall gain is set to
0 dB, also in a meter indication of 0 dB.
If a different console headroom setting is desired, it can be configured in a
range of 0...20 dB in steps of 1 dB (refer to chapter 6.5.14).
External Meters If desired, commercially available external level meters (such as meters by
DK-Audio, RTW, or Studer) may be installed if desired. Since analog VU
meters are very popular in some countries, provisions are made to install
this kind of meters as well. To do this, external level meter outputs must be
provided in the configuration.
External meters automatically follow the source selection of the corresponding
meters in the user GUI.
