General Procedures
GP 1 HVPS Checkout
The purpose of this checkout procedure is to verify correct operation of the High Voltage Power
Supply.
( Figure 1): The location of the HVPS Test Points is shown in the drawing at right.
NOTE: Use the 26V RTN test point when measuring all voltages. Failure to use this test point
can cause incorrect readings.
Figure 1 Location of HVPS Test Points
Perform the voltage checks shown in Table 1.
GP 2 Image on Drum (Panic Stop) Procedure
This procedure allows the isolation of print quality problems by observing the image on the
Drum before the transfer of the toner to the media. If the defect is visible on the Drum before
the transfer, the defect is related to the charge, the imaging, or the developer. If the defect is
visible on the print after the transfer, the defect is related to the transfer or fuser.
1. Make a test print. Open the right door interlock when the test pattern is almost half way
beyond the Drum (Print is just starting to exit from the printer).
2. Remove the Developer Module.
3. If the defect is visible on the developed image, the defect cause is related to the charge,
the imaging or the developer. If the defect is not visible, the defect cause is related to the
transfer or the fuser.
