3.4 Rear axle
3.4.1 General information
The rear axle shown in Figure 3.4.1 consists of the following components:
- main drive;
- differential;
- final drives.

3.4.2 Main drive
The main drive is a pair of bevel gears with spiral teeth. Drive gear of the main drive
19 (Figure 3.4.1) is mounted on the splined end of secondary shaft 18 of the gearbox, while
driven gear final of the main drive 4 is attached to the flange of differential housing 6 by
means of twelve semi-fit bolts.
