6.4.6 Maintenance service in every 2000 hours of operation
6.4.6.1 General guidelines
Complete the abovementioned operations, and the operations, listed in the present sub-
clause 6.4.6.
6.4.6.1 Operation 58. Rinse of engine cooling system and change of liquid coolant
Before change the liquid coolant in the engine cooling system place the tractor on level hor-
izontal ground, engage the parking brake and lock the wheels against movement fore and
aft by anti-recoil limit stops, excluding tractor self-movement. The engine must be stopped.
WARNING: COOLING SYSTEM OPERATES UNDER PRESSURE, WHICH IS MAIN-
TAINED BY THE VALVE IN THE EXPANSION CHAMBER PLUG. IT IS DANGEROUS TO
REMOVE THE PLUG WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT. LET THE ENGINE COOL DOWN,
COVER THE PLUG WITH THICK FABRIC AND TURN IT SLOW TO REDUCE PRESSURE
IN A SMOOTH MANNER, BEFORE THE PLUG IS FULLY UNSCREWED. BE CAREFUL
IN ORDER TO AVOID CONTACT WITH HOT OIL!
To rinse the engine cooling system of the tractor and change of the liquid coolant, perform the
following:
- unscrew drain plug of the water radiator 7 (Figure 3.1.5), unscrew drain valves at the
water radiator and the cylinder block on the right, drain the coolant.
- screw the drain valves at the water radiator and at the cylinder block;
- pour 2 l of kerosene into the radiator and fill the system with the prepared solution
(use a solution of 50-60 g of soda ash per 1 l of water) till the filler neck upper edge;
- fill the expansion tank 5 with water till upper edge of clamp 17 of expansion tank
mounting;
- start the engine and work 8-10 hours, then drain the solution;
- pour clean water into the cooling system through the radiator filler neck, fill the ex-
pansion tank with water till the clamp upper edge, start the engine and warm it till the normal
operating temperature (minimum 70 °С), then drain water from the cooling system;
- fill the coolant into the cooling system till the radiator filler neck upper edge, fill the
coolant into the expansion tank till the clamp upper edge;
- start the engine. Warm it up to the moment, when the temperature of LC reaches
92 to 95С. Stop the engine;
- check the uniformity of upper and lower radiator tanks warming-up, and radiator
core. Let the engine cool down;
- check the level of the coolant. If the level of coolant is lower than 20…30 mm from
the bottom of the expansion tank, refill the LC into the expansion tank till the upper edge
clamp of the expansion tank.
6.4.6.2 Operation 59. Check and adjustment of fuel pump at the stand
Dismantle the fuel pump from the motor to pass it to the specialized workshop.
ATTENTION: ADJUSTMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP IS CARRIED OUT BY THE SPE-
CIALIZED WORKSHOP WITH THE SPECIAL EQUIPMENT!
ATTENTION: THE DISMANTLE AND MOUNTING OF THE FUEL PUMP TO THE
ENGINE SHALL BE CARRIED OUT ONLY BY THE QUALIFIED SPECIALIST!
After mounting the fuel pump to the engine the fuel pump injection advance angle
must be adjusted according to subclause 6.4.6.5.
