3.8.3 Check and adjustment of pneumatics pressure regulator
Adjustment of the pressure regulator of the pneumatic system must be carried out during MS-
3, as well as in the event of a malfunction of the pressure regulator and after its disassembly for flush-
ing or replacing worn parts.
Checking and adjusting the pressure regulator of the pneumatic system must be carried out
after performing the adjustment operations for the service brake control, parking brake control and
brake valve drive, if installed.
Check the pressure regulator of the pneumatic system as follows:
- connect a pressure gauge (with a division value of 0.01 to 0.02 MPa and a scale of at least
1.6 MPa) to the connecting head;
- remove cap 1 (Figure 3.8.3);
- using a wrench, screw cover 2 into the housing until it stops;
- turn on the pneumatic compressor;
- start the engine and fill the tank with compressed air until safety valve 7 operates at a pressure
of 0.85 to 1 MPa. If the valve operates at a pressure less than 0.85 MPa or more than 1 MPa, adjust
it with screw 9, first loosening and then tightening locknut 8.
Adjust the pressure regulator of the pneumatic system as follows:
- gradually unscrewing cover 2, adjust the force of springs 3 and 4 so that the air pressure in
the tank, at which unloading valve 6 opens, is from 0.77 to 0.8 MPa;
- fix this position of cover 2 with paint applied to the threaded part of the body, and put on cap
1;
- slightly open the condensate removal valve in the tank and reduce air pressure to a value of
0.65 to 0.7 MPa. At these pressure values, valve 6 should close and switch the pneumatic compressor
to filling the tank with compressed air;
- disconnect the pressure gauge from the connecting head.

Note: Filter 5 (Figure 3.8.3) is installed only on the regulator 80-3512010. On the other
regulators of the pneumatic system, the filter is not available.
