2.13.4 Shifting between gears in a transmission with reverse reducing gear.
Controls of the gearbox with the reverse reducing gear are shown in Figure 2.13.7.
1 – diagram of passes of the gearbox reverse reducing gear; 2 – lever to control the reverse
reducing gear of the gearbox; 3 – lever to shift between ranges and gears of the gearbox; 4
– diagram of ranges and gears of the gearbox.
Figure 2.13.7 – Gearbox control
Gear shifting is carried out by two levers: lever to shift between ranges and gears of
the gearbox 3 (Figure 2.13.7) and lever to control the reverse reducing gear of the gearbox
2.
The choice of the required ranges, gears and passes of the reverse reducing gear
(forward pass - "forward" sign, reverse pass - "backward" sign) is made in accordance with
diagrams 4 and 1, as shown in Figure 2.13.7.
Shifting between ranges and gears is carried out with one lever 3, whereby it is the
range (Ist or IInd) that is engaged first, and then you move the lever to the “N” position, and
engage the selected gear.
Lever to control the reverse reducing gear 2 must be in the engaged (fixed) position
during the tractor operation: forward - forward pass ("forward"), or backward - reverse pass
("backward"). It is allowed to hold the reverse reducing gear lever in the neutral (middle non-
fixed) position to facilitate starting the engine at low temperatures.
ATTENTION: IN THE GEARBOX OF A TRACTOR EQUIPPED WITH A REVERSE
REDUCING GEAR, THERE IS NO REVERSE GEAR. THE SELECTION OF THE DIREC-
TION OF MOVEMENT IS CARRIED OUT BY ENGAGING THE APPROPRIATE PASS OF
THE REVERSE REDCUTUON GEAR GROUP!
ATTENTION: SHIFT BETWEEN THE RANGES AND GEARS OF THE GEARBOX
ONLY ON A STOPPED TRACTOR WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED!
ATTENTION: SHIFTING BETWEEN THE PASSES OF THE REVERSE REDUC-
ING GEARFROM FORWARD TO REVERSE AND FROM REVERSE TO FORWARD
SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT ONLY AFTER THE TRACTOR IS COMPLETELY
STOPPED WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED!
The plate of the speed diagram of the BELARUS-892 tractor, on the tires of the basic
configuration, equipped with a gearbox having a reverse reducing gear, is installed on the
right glass of the cab and is shown in Figure 2.13.8.
