4.2.3 Tractor motion start, GB shifting
ATTENTION: YOUR TRACTOR IS EQUIPPED WITH TURBOCHARGED ENGINE.
HIGH SPEED OF THE TURBOCHARGER REQUIRES GOOD LUBRICATION AT ENGINE
START. AFTER STARTED WARM UP THE ENGINE TO ACHIEVE STABLE RUNNING
UNDER THE CRANKSHAFT SPEED OF 1000-1300 RPM (FOR 2-3 MIN), AND THEN LET
IT RUN AT HIGHER SPEED, GRADUALLY INCREASING THE SPEED UP TO 1600 RPM
(NOT MORE) UNTIL THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE REACHES 40°C.
TRACTOR OPERATION IS FORBIDDEN, IF THE ENGINE EMERGENCY OIL
PRESSURE LAMP IS ON WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, STOP THE ENGINE IMMEDI-
ATELY!
Before starting to move define a necessary speed of tractor movement. The speed
diagram of the BELARUS-892/892.2 tractors with tires of basic configuration is given in the
instruction Table attached to the right glass of the cab and also in subsection 2.13 “Gears
shifting”.
To put the tractor in motion the following shall be done:
- reduce engine speed;
- depress the clutch pedal;
- set a required gearbox range using the range and gears shifting lever as per the range
shifting diagram in 2.13 “Gear shifting”, than set a desired speed, for this shift the range and
gears shifting lever into any of positions, as per the speed shifting diagram 2.13 “Gear shift-
ing”;
- if necessary change the speed of increasing gear (for tractors with reverse gear
unit change reverse gear unit for necessary tractor movement);
- disengage the parking break, slowly release the clutch pedal, increasing at
the same time fuel feed. The tractor will start moving
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO START MOVEMENT WITH BIG TRACTION LOAD!
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO MOVE THE TRACTOR WITH THE DOOR OPEN!
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO USE THE “R” REVERSE GEAR IN TRACTION MODE.
ATTENTION: STARTING TO MOVE, MAKE SURE THE PARKING BRAKE IS DIS-
ENGAGED!
ATTENTION: SWITCH THE GB GEARS AND RANGES ONLY WITH THE TRAC-
TOR STOPPED AND THE COUPLING CLUTCH DISENGAGED!
ATTENTION: THE RANGE REDUCTION GEAR OF THE GB IS NOT EQUIPPED
WITH A FIXED NEUTRAL POSITION OF THE DRIVING GEAR OF THE REDUCTION
UNIT STAGE I, THEREFORE, THE RANGE REDUCTION UNIT SHALL ALWAYS BE EN-
GAGED EITHER TO THE I
st
OR TO THE
II
nd
REDUCTION UNIT STAGE.
ATTENTION: THE REDUCING GEAR UNIT IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A FIXED
NEUTRAL POSITION, THEREFORE, THE REDUCING GEAR UNIT SHALL ALWAYS BE
ENGAGED EITHER TO THE HIGH OR TO THE LOW STAGE. SETTING THE LEVER TO
NEUTRAL (NON-FIXED POSITION) IS ALLOWED ONLY WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE
IN A COLD SEASON.
ATTENTION: SWITCH THE REDUCING GEAR UNIT ON ANY GB GEAR AND
ONLY WITH THE TRACTOR STOPPED AND THE CLUTCH DISENGAGED!
ATTENTION: WHILE OPERATING THE TRACTOR KEEP YOU FOOT OFF THE
CLUTCH PEDAL. THIS WILL PREVENT SLIPPING OF THE COUPLING CLUTCH, WHICH
CAUSES ITS OVERHEATING OR PREMATURE BREAKDOWN!
ATTENTION: WITH THE DIFFERENTIAL LOCK ENGAGED, THE TRACTOR
TRAVEL SPEED SHALL NOT EXCEED 13 KM/H!
ATTENTION: DO NOT USE THE ENGINE TO ITS FULL CAPACITY UNTIL THE COOL-
ANT TEMPERATURE REACHES 70 º C!
