3.7.2 Adjustment of service brake control
3.7.2.1 Check the adjustment of the service brake control.
The full travel of the right brake pedal, when depressed with a force of 120 to 130 N,
should be in the range from 105 to 115 mm, and the travel of the left pedal, when depressed
with the same force, should be 5-20 mm less.
If the travel of the right and left pedals does not correspond to the specified values, adjust
the control of the service brakes.
3.7.2.2 Before adjusting the service brake control, place the tractor on a flat horizontal
area. The engine must be off. Block the wheels from moving in front and behind with wheel
chocks to prevent spontaneous movement of the tractor.
3.7.2.3 Adjust the service brake control as follows:
- unscrew locknuts 3 (Figure 3.7.3) of adjusting bolts 2;
- screw bolts 2 into the yokes or unscrew them so that, with a force of 120 to 130 N, the full
travel of the right pedal stays in the range from 105 to 115 mm, while the travel of the left pedal is
less than that of the right pedal by 5...20 mm to ensure simultaneous operation of the brakes with
interlocked pedals.
- tighten locknuts 3.
ATTENTION: BE SURE TO PERFORM A FINAL CHECK FOR CORRECT ADJUSTMENT
OF SERVICE BRAKE CONTROL. THE FINAL CHECK OF THE CORRECT ADJUSTMENT OF
THE SERVICE BRAKES CONTROL IS CARRIED OUT BY BRAKING THE TRACTOR WITH THE
PEDALS INTERLOCKED. THE NON-SIMULTANEITY OF THE START OF BRAKING THE
WHEELS SHOULD NOT EXCEED 1 M (BY THE WHEEL PRINT). THE BRAKE PATH SHOULD
NOT EXCEED 6 M AT A SPEED FROM 17 TO 18 KM/H, WITH A FORCE OF MAXIMUM 600 N.
IF THESE CONDITIONS ARE NOT MET, RE-ADJUST THE SERVICE BRAKES CONTROL
(CHANGE THE VALUE OF THE PEDAL FULL TRAVEL, BUT ONLY WITHIN THE VALUES SPEC-
IFIED IN SECTION 3.7.2.1)!
It is not allowed to reduce the travel of the brake pedals below the values specified in para-
graph 3.7.2.1, as this leads to premature wear of the linings and overheating of the brakes.
