4.2 Tractor use
4.2.1 Boarding the tractor
The tractor is boarded through the cab left door. To make tractor boarding easier
there is a foot step.
4.2.2 Preparing for start and starting the engine
4.2.2.1 General information
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO OPERATE THE TRACTOR IN CLOSED ROOMS WITHOUT
A REQUIRED VENTILATION (AIR EXCHANGE). EXHAUST GASES MAY LEAD TO A LE-
THAL OUTCOME!
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO RUN THE ENGINE WITH THE SYSTEMS OF COOLING AND
ENGINE LUBRICATION UNFILLED!
ATTENTION: THE TRACTOR CAB IS EQUIPPED WITH A SINGLE-OCCUPANCY
SEAT AND THE OPERATOR IS THE ONLY PERSON TO STAY IN!
ATTENTION: START THE ENGINE AND INSPECT GAUGES ONLY WHEN STAY-
ING IN THE OPERATOR'S SEAT!
ATTENTION: KEEP IN MIND THAT THE ENGINE START IS POSSIBLE ONLY
WHEN THE GEAR-CHANGE LEVER IS SET INTO A NEUTRAL POSITION!
ATTENTION: THERE MUST BE NO PEOPLE UNDER BEFORE AND BEHIND THE
TRACTOR, AND BETWEEN THE TRACTOR AND AN IMPLEMENT COUPLED TO IT!
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO START THE ENGINE TAKING THE TRACTOR IN TOW, AS
IT MAY RESULT IN ENGINE BREAKDOWN. START THE ENGINE ONLY WHEN YOU
STAY IN THE OPERATOR'S SEAT!
4.2.2.2 Preparing for start and starting the engine
To start the engine of BELARUS-892/892.2 tractors, do the following operations:
- engage the tractor parking brake;
- open one or both the cocks of fuel tanks if they are closed;
- if necessary, fill in fuel and bleed the fuel delivery system to remove air from it;
- raise (i.e. close) the shutter of water radiator for a quicker heat-up of the engine (this
operation is not required under normal conditions (plus 4°С and higher)).
- set the handle for fuel feed control into the position that corresponds to the maxi-
mum fuel supply to the engine;
- set the handle to shift rear PTO from continuous or ground-speed drive into position
“Neutral”, and the rear PTO control lever into position “Off”;
- set the rod that engages the semi-continuous side PTO into position “Off”;
- the control handles of the distributor of hydraulic lift linkage shall be in “neutral”
position;
- depress the clutch pedal, shift the gear-switching and range-switching levers of the
gearbox into the position of engaging the I

range, and release the clutch pedal;
- turn on the battery disconnect switch;
