2.12.2 FDA drive control
The FDA drive control handle 1 (Figure 2.12.1) has 3 fixed positions:
- “FDA disengaged” – extreme lower (front) position. This mode is used for transport
operations when moving on roads with hard surface;
- “FDA turns on and off automatically” middle position. In this mode the FDA gets
engaged and disengaged automatically with a help of overrunning clutch, depending on the
rear wheel skidding. This mode shall be used at various field operations.
- “FDA engaged positively” – extreme upper (rear) position. This mode shall be used
only when the rear wheel skidding is constant and during reverse movement, when engage-
ment of the FDA is required.
The modes “FDA turns on and off automatically” and “FDA engaged positively” shall be
used when the tractor starts the movement.
As you start movement, you should switch the FDA drive from the position “FDA turns on
and off automatically” and “FDA engaged positively” to the position “FDA disengaged” with the
clutch pedal fully depressed. If disengagement of the FDA drive is complicated in this case, do
not apply too much force to the control handle and do following:
- depress the clutch pedal;
- shift the gear to change the direction of movement to opposite (if the forward gear was
on, you should engage the reverse gear and vice versa);
- release the clutch pedal slowly and while starting the movement switch the control han-
dle to the position “FDA disengaged”.

SPEED OF MORE THAN 13 KM/H IS FORBIDDEN.
ATTENTION: INCORRECT USE OF THE FDA DRIVE CONTROL MODES CAN CAUSE
BREAKDOWN OF THE FDA AND THE TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS!
