During cold season when the temperature is below plus 5º С, to avoid water freezing
risk it is necessary to make solution by means of adding calcium chloride into the water
according to Table 5.7.2.
Table 5.7.2 – Calcium chloride quantity required to make a solution needed for fill-
ing in the tyres when the ambient temperature is below plus 5º С

WARNING: WHILE MAKING THE SOLUTION OF LIQUID BALLAST YOU SHOULD AL-
WAYS ADD CALCIUM CHLORIDE INTO THE WATER AND STIR UNTIL THE CALCIUM
CHLORIDE IS DISSOLVED! NEVER ADD WATER INTO THE CALCIUM CHLORIDE!
WHEN MAKING THE SOLUTION, WEAR PROTECTIVE GLASSES! IN CASE THE SOLU-
TION CONTACTS WITH EYES, RINSE WITH PURE COLD WATER FOR FIVE MINUTES!
SEEK MEDICAL HELP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
5.7.5 Procedure of filling tyres with water or aqueous solution
Filling the tyre with liquid shall be carried out in the following order:
- jack up (lift up) the tractor;
- turn wheel 2 (Figure 5.7.1) so that valve 1 moves to its top;
- screw out the spool valve and install a multifunctional “air-water” valve 2 (Figure
5.7.2), through which the water (solution) is filled and the air is removed from the tyre sim-
ultaneously;
- fill up the water (solution);
- after filling up, withdraw the multifunctional valve and screw in the spool valve, and
adjust inner pressure to normal operating pressure.
ATTENTION: PRESSURE OF WATER (SOLUTION)-FILLED TYRES SHALL BE
CHECKED ONLY WHEN THE VALVE IN THE TOP POSITION, OTHERWISE THE WATER
ENTERING THE TYRE PRESSURE GAUGE (MANOMETER) CAN CAUSE PRESSURE
GAUGE FAILURE!
1 – valve; 2 – wheel.
