Air is delivered into pneumatic compressor 1 (Figure 3.8.1) from the intake manifold
of the engine. In pneumatic compressor 1, air is compressed and supplied to tank 6 through
pressure regulator 2, which maintains the required pressure in the tank. From the tank, com-
pressed air is supplied to brake valve 13 through pipeline 9. Brake valve 13 is linked to
connecting head 7 by means of connecting line 8.
The pneumatic drive has a valve-type connecting head 7 installed. The connecting
head valve prevents air from escaping when the pneumatic drive is used without the ma-
chine attached (for example, when inflating tires) and when the machine got detached in an
emergency. When the line of the machine is connected to the line of the tractor, the valve of
the connecting head opens, allowing passage of compressed air from the tractor's pneu-
matic drive to the attached machine's pneumatic drive.
When connecting an agricultural machine with a single-line pneumatic drive, the
head of the agricultural machine is connected to connecting head 7 and air enters the
pneumatic drive of the agricultural machine. When you press the brake pedals or turn
on the parking brake, compressed air exits connecting line 8 through brake valve 13 into
the atmosphere. At the same time, air distributor is activated on the agricultural machine,
supplying compressed air from the tanks of the agricultural machine to the brake cham-
bers, and the agricultural machine is braked. In the event of an emergency disconnection
of the trailer, the connecting heads are disconnected, air from the agricultural machine's
line is released into the atmosphere, and the agricultural machine is braked automati-
cally.
Based on the foregoing, the control of the brakes of agricultural machines is carried
out in two modes: direct and automatic.
The direct control of the brakes is carried out due to the pressure drop in connecting
line 8 to zero MPa when the tractor is braking. At the same time, the supply of compressed
air to the pneumatic system of the agricultural machine is stopped.
The automatic brake control (automatic braking) is carried out in the event of a break
in the coupling and disconnection of the agricultural machine due to a pressure drop in the
connecting line of the trailer.
Air pressure in tank 6 is controlled by air pressure indicator 4 and the red emergency
air pressure warning lamp 12 (installed in combination cluster on the dashboard), by air
pressure sensor 10 and emergency air pressure sensor 11.
To remove condensate from tank 6, condensate removal valve 5 is provided. Con-
densate is removed by deflecting a pusher with the ring to the side and up. Air is taken from
the pneumatic drive (for tire inflation, etc.) through air bleed valve 3 of pressure regulator 2.
3.8.2.2 Check and adjustment of the drive of the pneumatic system brake valve
ATTENTION: ADJUST THE DRIVE OF THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM BRAKE VALVE
WITH THE SERVICE BRAKE PEDALS NOT DEPRESSED AND THE PARKING BRAKE
FULLY DISENGAGED, WHICH MUST BE PRELIMINARY ADJUSTED!
ATTENTION: CHECKING AND, IF NECESSARY, ADJUSTING THE DRIVE OF THE
PNEUMATIC SYSTEM BRAKE VALVE SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT AFTER THE OPER-
ATIONS OF ADJUSTING THE SERVICE BRAKE CONTROL AND ADJUSTING THE
PARKING BRAKE CONTROL!
