  After users remove the metallic shield and the foil, they 
can see two power cables (in red and black 
respectively), two signal cables (in blue and white 
respectively), and one shielded cable. 
  After the metallic shield and the foil are removed, the 
users need to remove the plastic jackets of the power 
cables and the plastic jackets of the signal cables 
properly. 
  Insert the communication cable into the holes in the 
connector. 
  After the communication cable is inserted into the holes 
in the connector, tighten the screws on the connector 
with a slotted screwdriver. 
 
 
 
4.12.1.3 Installing the DeviceNet Connector 
  After the wiring is complete, users can insert the DeviceNet connector into the interface. 
  Tighten the two screws on the DeviceNet connector. 
 
 
Points for attention:   
  After the communication cable is kept separate from the power cable, the electromagnetic interference is 
reduced. 
  Only after the both ends of the shielded cable are grounded can the shielded cable be brought into full 
play.
