Keystone, South Dakota, in the United States. Sculpted by Danish-American Gutzon Borglum
and his son, Lincoln Borglum, Mount Rushmore features 60-foot (18 m) sculptures of the heads
of former United States presidents (in order from left to right) George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The entire memorial covers 1,278.45
acres 5,725 feet above sea level."
Using User Waypoints
User Waypoints are searchable via the USR (“User”) tab on the NEAREST page. The USR tab only
appears if there are User Waypoints stored in SkyView.
User Waypoints can also be found like any other airport or navaid by searching on identifier or
name in the Info Window.
MAP SETUP – Map Preference Configuration
Many aspects of the moving map’s appearance can be configured or modified using the MAP
SETUP menu option available both in System Setup (if stationary on the ground) and the IN
FLIGHT SETUP menu.
Access the MAP SETUP menu by pushing-and-holding Buttons 7+8 for two seconds, then
selecting the MAP SETUP menu item.
The following section describes the various map features and behaviors that can be adjusted
through this menu.
• INFO ITEMS: Info Items are user-selectable data relating to VFR GPS navigation which
can optionally be displayed in a special region on the screen. These items are described
in more detail in the MAP INFO COLUMN section below.
• MAP ITEMS – Use these settings to specify the largest range level that the various
features are displayed. You may also completely inhibit the display of various items on
the map using this feature.
• MAP MODE:
o MAP MODE – Use this setting to specify when the map is displayed in “Track Up”
vs. “North Up” orientations.
o WITH CHART – Use this setting to specify when the map is displayed in “Track
Up” vs. “North Up” orientation on a Geo-referenced chart when enroute charts
are being displayed. Some pilots choose to keep this in North Up to preserve
chart text legibility.
