2. Analog audio input connections
Youcanbringexternalanalogaudiosourcesintothe
KRONOSforsampling,recording,orprocessing
throughtheinternaleffects.
AUDIO INPUT 1, 2
Thesetwoinputsuse1/4”TRSbalancedjacks,and
includepreampswithadjustablegain.Tosetupthe
audioinputs:
1. Connectyourmicsortheoutputjacksofyour
externalaudiosourcestotheINPUT1and2jacks.
2. SettheMIC/LINEswitchasappropriateforthe
deviceyou’veconnected,andusetheLEV
ELkn
ob
toadjustthegain.
ChoosetheLINEsetting(switchpressedinward)if
you’veconnectedamixer,computer,audiosystem,
signalprocessor,oranothersynthesizer.Forbest
results,usebalancedlineconnections.
Note:Guitarswithactivepickupscanbeconnected
directly.Guitarswithpassivepickups(i.e.,guitarsthat
donothav
eaninternalpreamp)canbeused,butthe
impedancemismatchwillcausebothachangeintone
andareductioninvolume.Forbestresults,routesuch
guitarsthroughapreamporeffectsunitbefore
connectingthem.
ChoosetheMICsetting(switchintheoutward
position)onlywhenconnectingami

.Notethatsome
microphones,suchascondensers,mayrequireexternal
phantompower,whichisnotsuppliedbythe
KRONOS.
3. Adjusttheoutputlevelonanyconnectedexternal
equipment.

Digital audio output
TheKRONOSmainstereooutputcanbedigitally
transmittedtoanaudiosystem,digitalmixer,orother
devicethatcanacceptasamplingrateof48kHz.
•UseanopticalcabletoconnecttheS/P DIFOUT
(MAIN)jacktotheopticaldigitalinputjackofyour
device.

OUTPUT(MAIN)L/MONOandRjacks.
Note:TheMAINVOLUMEknobdoesn’taffectthe
volumeofthedigitaloutput.
Digital audio input
Youcanrecordorsamplethedigitaloutputofa
S/P DIFdevicerunningat48kHz,suchasacomputer
audiosystemordigitalmixer.Youcanalsoroutethe
inputdirectlytotheKRONOSoutputs,orthroughthe
internaleffects.

outputofyourdigitalaudiodevicetoth
eS/P DIF
INjackoftheKRONOS.
2. SetSystemClock(ontheGlobalP0:BasicSetup
page)toS/P DIF.
3. Afterturningonthepower,usetheAudioInput
pagetosetupthevolume,pan,busrouting,and
sendlevelsfortheinputs,asdesired.

theanalogandUSBinputs.
4. Connecting Foot Pedals and Switches
Connecting a damper pedal
Thedamperpedalisalsosometimescalledthesustain
pedal.Itactslikethesimilarlynamedpedalonan
acousticpiano;whenyouholddownthepedal,notes
willcontinuetosustainevenwhenyouliftyourhands
offofthekeyboard.
1. ConnectanoptionalDS1Hdamperpedaltothe
DAMPERja
ck.Ifyo
u’veconnectedaDS1H,
you’llbeabletoobtainhalfdampereffects.
Afterturningthepoweron:

usetheDamperPolarityparametertosetthe
damperpolarity.

sequencer,andcontrollingtaptempo.

theASSIGNABLESWITCHjack.

assignthefunctioncontrolledbythefootswitch
