Melter Faults (contd)
Fault Message Cause Corrective Action(s)
Brownout Plant AC power dipped and came back
up
Cycle the melter power.
Expansion board
connection failure
24 VDC connection between main board
and expansion board faulty
Check the 4‐pin connector at J2 on the
main board and at X3 on the expansion
board. If the fault persists, replace the
connector cable.
Expansion board
disconnected
Expansion board not detected on system
that requires an expansion board
Check the ribbon cable connections
between the expansion board and the
main board.
Expansion board failure
Ribbon cable connected to expansion
board failed
Replace the ribbon cable.
Expansion board failed Replace the expansion board. Refer to
Replacing a Circuit Board in Section 8,
Repair.
Fill board disconnected Cable between CPU/LCD board and fill
board disconnected
Check the cable connections. If the
cables appear correct, try cycling the
power.
Hose interface board
communications failure
Hose interface board and CPU/LCD
board no longer communicating.
Check the serial cable between the
boards. Check the power supply to the
hose interface board.
Hose interface board
disconnected
Cable between fill board and hose
interface board disconnected
Check the cable connections. If the
cables appear correct, try cycling the
power. If the fault persists, replace the
boards. Refer to Replacing a Circuit
Board in Section 8, Repair.
